What is Protect TM in Pokemon SV?
Protect TM lets you teach the “Protect” move to a specific Pokemon. The Protect move is quite useful as it directly affects the Pokemon you are teaching it. This move protects the Pokemon (to whom it is taught) from all the attacks that it faces in that particular round. But, there are some exceptions and points that you must keep in mind before practicing this move in battles.
- Protect move must not be used consecutively. If used, it has a high chance of failing and can result in collateral damage.
- Protect Move isn’t effective against moves like Acupressure, Doom Desire, Future Sight, and many others.

How to get Protect TM?
As you might know, Pokemon SV has TM Machines in various pokemon centers. At these machines, you can interact and craft your Favorite TMs by collecting several items and exchanging them. So, to get a Protect TM, you can simply collect the following items and exchange them to get a Protect TM:
- 400 LP
- 3x Lechonk Hair
- 3x Scatterbug Powder
Unlike some other TMs, Protect TM is available to craft right from the beginning of the game, considering you have obtained one copy of it. But, more or less, there is an option to get a Protect TM through exploration as well. Here are the locations that you must explore to get Protect TM.
- Head to the north of Alfornada in South Province (Area Six).
- Head to the southeast of Lost Platos in South Province (Area One) and visit a large rock present there.
- Head to the west of Mesagoza in South Province (Area Two).
