Pokemon Scarlet & Violet (SV) How to Catch & Defeat Lurking Steel Titan Orthworm & Best Pokemon to use

Titan Pokemon are some of the toughest adversaries in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet that many players can confirm. There are plenty of those pokemon that you’ll encounter in your playthrough and among them, the Lurking Steel Titan, Orthworm can prove very difficult to beat. As the name implies, it is a Steel type pokemon and is one of the five Titan pokemon in the Path of Legends questline. It guards one of the Herba Mystica items and once you defeat it, your Miraidon/Koraidon mount will learn the High Jump Ability which can be very useful while traversing. If you’re planning on progressing in the game, you must defeat Orthworm. This is where this short guide comes in. Continue reading the article to know about Pokemon Scarlet & Violet and how to catch and defeat Lurking Steel Titan Orthworm.

How to defeat Lurking Steel Titan Orthworm in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet?

First, you have to visit Orthworm’s Lair by following the road north of Levincia City near East Province Area Two. The path is very simple. When you get there, you’ll see its burrowed path and there the steel-type pokemon will be waiting for you. To fight against it, you need Pokemon that are fire, ground, and fighting types, each around level 28 or higher. If you haven’t leveled them up, then you better should or you won’t be able to deal damage. With both the combinations of fighting and fire type, you can shave off a considerable amount of Orthworm’s HP. Ground-type attacks are also good for dealing damage to Lurking Steel Titan Orthworm, but we won’t recommend it due to the Earth Eater move that the Titan Pokemon has, which can regain HP from Ground-type attacks. Anyways, if you wish to capture it, we have laid out instructions on how to do so below.

How to catch Lurking Steel Titan Orthworm in Scarlet & Violet?

You cannot actually catch any Titan pokemon during the first battle. Once you defeat Orthworm for the first time, it’ll revert to its small non-titan size the next time you go back to the same area. So, now you can catch it. We’ll recommend you bring along Talonflame, Hariyama, and Pawmot as these three can easily resist its attacks. If you have a pokemon that has a false swipe move, then you can lower the Titan Pokemon’s HP to 1. You can also use the Nuzzle move of Pawmot which can paralyze the opponent. After you have it paralyzed and low on HP, throw Ultraballs at it, and you should be able to capture it.
