Gotcha Evolve, the alternative to Pokémon Go Plus+, continues to be the go-to Pokemon-catching device for many. Serving as the upgraded version of the base Gotcha, the Gotcha Evolve comes bundled with various features and improvements. But the device is not without its own fair share of issues. And among the many issues that players seem to be encountering recently, there’s the Gotcha Evolve not turning on issue that needs to be fixed immediately.
Well, as that title implies, there are players who have been unable to turn on their Gotcha Evolve. We aren’t sure what is causing this issue, to be honest. The cause can range from a simple hardware defect to a display issue. Although finding the root cause behind this issue is not possible, it doesn’t mean that this issue can’t be dealt with. So, what can you do to fix the issue? Well, continue reading to find out!
Pokemon Go Gotcha Evolve not turning on: How to fix it
Players can use the following workarounds to resolve this issue. Try not to skip these unless you have already tried one before.
Charge the device –
Well, the obvious first thing to check would be to charge the device. The issue could be as simple as the device being out of charge, so make sure to charge it. If the issue persists, switch to another workaround.
Check for hardware damage –
The next obvious thing would be to check for hardware damage. This is the most common cause of issues such as this, so check thoroughly. If you are unable to find any kind of hardware damage, check out the next method.
Ensure that this isn’t just a screen issue –
The Gotcha Evolve’s display is known to glitch out sometimes, resulting in an entirely black screen. However, the device seems to work just fine in such cases. Since the screen stays black, it can be confusing for some users to know whether this is a display issue or something more. To find that out, you just need to open your Gotcha Evolve app, click on the screen button on it, and scan. If the Gotcha Evolve connects, then you have nothing to worry about. If it doesn’t connect, then try the next workaround.
Wake up from Hibernation Mode –
Your Gotcha Evolve could be in hibernation mode, due to which it is not turning on. If you want to wake it up from hibernation mode, all you need to do is try the reset procedure. In case you are unaware of the procedure, you just need to insert and remove the charger from your Gotcha Evolve ten times in quick succession.
Shake the Gotcha Evolve –
You can also try holding the power button of the Evolve for about ten seconds and then shaking it till you see the display light up. It’s a strange method, but it has worked for some. Do this and see if it works for you too.
Contact support –
If you are still unable to turn on the Evolve, then the only other option is to just contact support. Explain the issue to the support team, and they might provide you with additional workarounds. If the issue persists, the only other way to deal with it is to simply get another Gotcha Evolve.
