In simple words, a player would attempt to open a gift sent by their Friend. But upon opening the package, they are welcomed with an error code, saying that the Gift does not exist. Our best shot is to close the game completely and restarting the same. This has got some chance to resolve the bugs that can cause this error. You can clean cache from the app-based storage, which can also potentially fix the same.
Despite this, if the GIFT DOES NOT EXIST error continues, uninstall the game. Therefore, a fresh reinstallation can sometimes help in providing a clean download. This can often bring the files which got missed out for the error. The game would take some time for downloading upon reinstalling. Check if the error persists. An update can fix the error. Looking at the craze for the upcoming Pokémon GO Fest 2021, Niantic might try to roll out the fix before July 17th.
