Being a Pokémon Go trainer isn’t an easy task as one is faced with countless hurdles along the way. One such hurdle is called challenges or research tasks which, there is no lack of in the game. Numerous challenges are added every now and then for various Community Days, special events and more. With the latest 0.185.1 update live, Mega Evolution mechanic has been added to the game, which is a massive topic of discussion on it own. However, today we are taking a look at the research tasks that have come along with it to help the professor in his study of the Megas. A Mega Discovery.
For those new to the game, research tasks or challenges can be accessed via the binocular resembling icon on the bottom left side of your main world screen. These tasks are divided into three sections; Daily, Field and Special research. Usually, they are proceeded by Professor Willow talking directly to the player and providing context and requirements for the job. Completing them rewards players with items such as Pokéballs, berries, TMs, an random encounters.
Now that we are all caught up, let’s discuss the latest Mega Evolution related challenges at hand. The aforementioned is a Discovery challenges with 4 layers to it, each having its particular special rewards. They are as follows :
A Mega Discovery Tasks and Rewards (1/4)
- Send 3 Gifts to Friends: x10 PokeBall
- Earn a Candy walking with your Buddy: x10 Super Potion
- Catch 15 Pokemon: x25 Beedrill Mega Energy
- Rewards: Weedle encounter, x3 Rare Candy and 5,000 XP
A Mega Discovery Tasks and Rewards (2/4)
- Power up Pokemon 5 times: x20 Weedle Candy
- Evolve 1 Weedle: x2,000 Stardust
- Defeat 3 Team Go Rocket Grunts: x1 Premium Raid Pass
- Rewards: x100 Beedrill Mega Energy, x1 Charge TM and 5,000 XP
A Mega Discovery Tasks and Rewards (3/4)
- Win a Raid: x6 Revives
- Battle in a Mega Raid: x2 Silver Pinap Berry
- They’ve changed the take a snapshot tasks and it now shows Catch 10 Pokemon for x6 Hyper Potion
- Rewards: x25 Beedrill Mega Energy, x3 Rare Candy and 5,000 XP

- Claim Reward: x1,500 Stardust
