Orcs Must Die! 4 Release Date: When is it coming?

Orcs Must Die! is an action-tower-defence series using a third-person narrative instead of the usual top-down or side-scrolling theme, and also features a co-operative mode where you can play with a friend: the fifth instalment, Orcs Must Die! 4 could now be in development at Robot Entertainment since Orcs Must Die! 3 came out on July 23rd, 2021 for all platforms but the stadia, which got the game all the way back in July 2020. In this article, we will be taking a look at the possible release window for Orcs Must Die! 4. Right, let’s get straight into it.

Orcs Must Die! 3 featured a more large-scale sandbox-like battlefield for enemies to attack from, thus further pushing the limits of the tower-defence strategy that the game was built on. It can be assumed that Robot Entertainment will try and do the same with the fifth mainline instalment to their series.

The reason the number corresponding to the game title does not match up with its chronological index in the series is due to the third instalment in the franchise being the free-to-play Orcs Must Die! Unchained. It came out only on PCs and the PlayStation 4, thus leading to a much smaller player community than the other entries in the franchise. It seems to have been an experiment by Robot Entertainment, playing with the free-to-play model, but ever since, there have been no signs of a return to this model.

The first two games in the Orcs Must Die! franchise came out in a very rapid-fire fashion. While the original game came out on the Xbox Live Arcade in October of 2011, its full release cycle was only completed on July 13, 2012 when the game came out on Windows and OnLive in the European Union of nations. Well, if you can believe it, the second game, Orcs Must Die! 2 came out a little more than two weeks after the full worldwide release of the original, on July 30, 2012! However, after this, a release pattern with a gap of around four to five years has now emerged, with Orcs Must Die! Unchained coming out in 2017, and Orcs Must Die! 3 in 2021. As such, we can be expecting an Orcs Must Die! 4 around 2025.
