OnePlus 6 and 6T 10.3.5 update rolling out with July Security patch

OnePlus continues to be one of the few Android OEMs providing consistent platform and security updates for at least three years. That is why the OnePlus 6 and 6T, both of which were released in 2018, received the Android 10 update. This is something that not a lot of other 2018 flagships can boast of. Both the OnePlus 6 and 6T were important releases that introduced new features to the OnePlus line. The OnePlus 6 was the first OnePlus phone to offer a glass and metal build, while the OnePlus 6T was the first to offer an in-display fingerprint sensor and get rid of the headphone jack.

Except for a few small tweaks, the two devices are largely the same. Both are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and can have up to 8GB of RAM. Both offer an AMOLED display, although the OnePlus 6 does have a larger notch compared to the OnePlus 6T. They also sport a similar camera configuration with a dual-camera setup at the back, consisting of a 16MP primary and a 20MP secondary shooter. For the front, they have a 16MP camera. And because of OnePlus’s commitment to software updates, they have the latest OxygenOS 10 with all of its new features.

Today, the OnePlus team has pushed out a new update for the OnePlus 6 and 6T. OxygenOS 10.3.5 brings in several fixes, optimisations, and the latest July 2020 Security Patch. It improves RAM management and the connection with the OnePlus Buds. It fixes the issue of Chrome randomly crashing while browsing. Users should no longer get a black screen while opening logkit.

This an OTA update that will have a staged rollout. It will be received by a limited number of users at first and then rolled out to everyone after OnePlus can make sure that there are no critical bugs.
