August Research Breakthrough encounter
Scraggy, the Shedding Pokemon is coming next month as a reward for Research Breakthrough encounter. The timing is official from Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 1PM Pacific Day Time to Tuesday, September 1, 2020 1PM Pacific Day Time.
Pokemon Spotlight Hours
Spotlight Hour will be happening every Tuesday at 6 PM local time. The best thing will be that each hour will spotlight a different Pokemon and will have special rewards each.
- Tuesday, August 4, 2020: For catching Horsea you will be earning twice the Candy from usual while the Pokemon is in the highlight.
- August 11, 2020: For the next week, Sableye will be the Spotlight Pokemons and will get you 2x the Candy for transferring Pokemons.
- 18 August, 2020: You can earn twice the XP for evolving Pokemon as Venipede takes the spotlight.
- August 25, 2020: Geodude will earn the spotlight and you can get twice the Stardust for catching Pokemon.
Ultra Unlock is Here!
The official post highlights a thankful message for Pokemon GO Fest 2020 attendees. This Ultra Unlock bonus is a reward to players to achieving the most successful GO Fest.
Here is everything you get from Ultra Unlock:
- Each will be a new week full of surprises in Ultra Unlock Week.
- Dragon Week: From July 31st to August 7th, 2020, the servers will be flooded by Dragon-type Pokemon in all sizes. You will get tiny Gibles to Alolan Exeggutor and there will be Rayquaza in five-star raiders. The week will also be filled with an encounter from Shiny Deino if you are very lucky and don’t forget to complete special Timed Research tasks available just for this week.
- Enigma Week: From August 7 to August 14 Deoxys will be available in the five star raids and if lucky you will get a chance to get a Shiny one! Mysterious Pokemon like Elgyem will be available this whole week in big numbers. Shiny Staryu can also be a rare catch this week.
- Unova Week: From August 14 to August 21 The Unova region Pokemon will be available this week. The Pokemon include Sewaddle, Cottonee, Emolga, and Bouffalant. Genesect will be the five-star raids and maybe even a Shiny one. Shiny Roggenrola is also an option.
