Ninja Gaiden 2 Black Input Lag: How to fix it
Basics
Before you try any complex workarounds, start by restarting the game and then your PC. After this, launch the game and then check whether the input lag is still there. If yes, try disconnecting the input devices from your PC and connecting them again. If the problem persists, try the next workaround.
High DPI Override Settings
For this workaround, you will need to access the game’s installation directory. How? Open Steam, go to Library, and then right-click on Ninja Gaiden 2 Black. Now, select Manage>Browse Local Files. Now, you will be taken to the directory where the game is installed. Here, find the .exe file of the game and right-click on it to select Properties. In the Properties menu, select the Compatibility tab, and then the Change High DPI Settings option. Here, under the High DPI Scaling Override option, checkmark the Override High DPI Scaling option and then select Application. Once selected, save the changes, and then launch the game. This is the most popular and effective workaround for this issue.
Note: Make sure DPI Override is set for both the game’s launcher and .exe to be on the safe side.
Disable VSync
Oftentimes, settings such as VSync contribute to the input lag issues in games. So, we advised you to consider disabling VSync via the in-game settings or via the Nvidia Control Panel or AMD Radeon Software. You can also disable it by entering the “Busevsync=false” command in the game’s engine.ini file.
Steam Input (if using controllers)
As stated earlier, this issue could also be the result of incorrect Steam Input configurations. So, to rule out this possibility, go to Steam, select the Steam option on the top left corner, and click on Settings. In the Settings menu, select the Controller tab and then carefully choose the Steam Input option for your specific controller. Once done, go to the game’s Properties menu via Steam, and then in the Controller tab, select the Enable Steam Input option. After this, launch the game to check whether the issue persists.
