Bethesda has been currently focusing on the confirmed games Starfield and Elder Scroll 6 and it seems that Fallout is on halt. But Fallout is one of the biggest franchises of Bethesda, so delaying its release for too long would impact the game in a negative way. So should we expect a new Fallout game, Fallout 5 in the upcoming years? Let’s find out.
Fallout Series- What to expect now?
The latest installment of the Fallout series is Fallout 76. It is the first game in the series that features a multiplayer mode. However, things didn’t work quite well as Bethesda thought it would. Being filled with bugs and glitches, Fallout 76 is a disappointment for many. But, since then, Bethesda has been consistently providing new updates and patches to improve the quality of the game.
Fallout 5 might not be facing similar problems as the game is rumored to be released as single-player like Fallout 4. Featuring new locations and new characters in the post-apocalyptic world, the upcoming Fallout 5 might be sharing the same success as its predecessors.
Fallout fans are desperately waiting for a new Fallout game but we think there is still time for it to be a reality.
Fallout 5- Release Date
Acknowledging the pattern followed by the publishers of Fallout, each Fallout game is released 7 years apart. Fallout 3(2008) and Fallout 4(2015) had a gap of 7 years which makes us believe that the new Fallout 5 still has time to be released. Maybe somewhere near 2022? No confirmation yet!
Fallout 5- Supported Platforms
Fallout 5 will surely be a next-gen title available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S along with PC. With Microsoft’s purchase of Zenimax(developers of Fallout 76 and a subsidiary to Bethesda), we might even see Fallout 5 to be PC/Xbox Exclusive.
Now, being supported by the next-gen consoles, it is obvious that the new Fallout 5 will be featuring high-end graphics quality with raytracing as well.
