Nearly three months ago, a co-op multiplayer playtest was released on Steam that looked promising, and on 17 July 2025, Neon Abyss 2 was released in early access. The early access version of Neon Abyss 2 was made available with a 10% discount during the first two weeks post-release. It should be noted that the game cannot be considered complete. The development of the game is expected to continue into 2026, promising additional features and development. The developers have also pointed out that the price may vary for the later release. This is so because many special rooms, weapons, bosses, and characters are yet to be added. The sequel has so far introduced the following features:
Online Co-op mode
Faith system with customizable build paths
Soul weapon system for imaginative combat
A fate system that adds unpredictable twists
Hatchmon collectibles
Neon Abyss 2 Co-op mode: Is it coming soon?
Apart from the other incredible features, players are most excited about the Co-op or multiplayer option. The developers have indeed added the option to add up to 4 players in-game for fast-paced gameplay. However, it still does not have the option for local co-op. This means that players will not be able to use LAN or private servers to host a private game yet. However, the developers have said in response that a thorough evaluation regarding this will be conducted when the game’s development content approaches the 1.0 version. It has not been added yet because it would require additional development work. It is expected that in the near future, this specific feature will likely be available for players.
That will be all for the update on the development of Neon Abyss 2. At Digistatement, we keep an eye on all the recent happenings in the gaming community. So, for further information regarding this game or any other game, stay tuned.
