After a long wait, developer Angela Game’s Myth of Empires is finally available to play once again on Steam. For the uninitiated, MoE was delisted from Steam back in December of 2021 due to a DMCA takedown request filed by Studio Wildcard, the developers behind Ark: Survival Evolved. Following a full two years of dispute, the issue was resolved last year in October 2023, and Angela Game released the game back on Steam on February 22, 2024. And with Myth of Empires getting a lot of attention lately, many want to know if they will be able to enjoy it on PC handhelds like the Steam Deck, Rog Ally, and Legion Go.
PC handhelds continue to rise in popularity and at this point, it’s safe to say that they have successfully carved a niche of their own. Players can nowadays enjoy titles like Elden Ring, Red Dead Redemption 2, Baldur’s Gate 3, and many others on the go. While there are a lot of PC handhelds from other companies, Steam Deck, Rog Ally, and Legion Go seem to be the most popular choices nowadays. So, can you enjoy Myth of Empires on these three PC handhelds? Well, let’s go ahead and find out.
Myth of Empires Steam Deck, Asus Rog Ally & Lenovo Legion Go Support Details
At the time of publishing this, Myth of Empires is unplayable on the Steam Deck. Currently, if you go ahead and take a look at the ProtonDB page of the game, there’s no player report on the Steam Deck section. Plus, the Deck Verified Status is set to Unsupported right now. So, if you are planning to enjoy Myth of Empires on the Deck, then you will need to wait until the developers decide to add Deck support for the game.
So, what about the Asus Rog Ally and the Lenovo Legion Go? Well, we do have confirmation of the fact that Myth of Empires runs on the Rog Ally, as evidenced by some of the videos posted online. While that isn’t the case with Legion Go, we are confident that you can also play Myth of Empires on it. Unlike the Steam Deck, both the Asus Rog Ally and the Lenovo Legion Go use Windows, which helps avoid compatibility issues. Plus, Rog Ally and Legion Go use the same processor, so if the game runs fine on Rog Ally, then it will be the same on Legion Go too.
By the way, while Myth of Empires might not be supported for the Deck right now, you can try dual-booting Windows on it as an alternative of sorts. So, if you are willing to try that, do so and see if that works out. We will be sure to let our readers know, in case Myth of Empires does become playable on the Steam Deck later on.
