Motorola Razr

As we near the launch of the upcoming Android 11, curiosity and excitement levels are surging high. Well, there’s still plenty of time until Android 11 arrives. While OEMs work on their next Android 11 OS updates, they are also delivering Android 10 updates in the meantime. These days many devices are getting the Android 10 updates. American OEM Motorola is gradually taking its smartphone game to higher levels. With the launch of the Moto Razr followed by the recent Motorola Edge+, the brand is into conquering new heights. Well, these are two of the most stunning Motorola flagships so far.

Moto Razr gets Android 10:

The Moto Razr is perhaps the most premium offering by Motorola to date. It is also one of the best foldable smartphones out there in the market. This foldable clamshell device came in February 2020. Well, the device does not pack extreme specs considering the price point it is available for. It houses the Qualcomm SDM710 Snapdragon 710 chipset and comes along with a foldable P-OLED screen. While the hardware specs may somewhat be justified considering the fact that it is a foldable device with a compact form factor, other things maybe not.

The fact that the device came with Android Pie out of the box is a major setback to the device. How can anyone accept a 2020 flagship with a 2-year-old version of Android? However, things are going to change now. The good news is Motorola has finally announced the official Android 10 upgrade for the Moto Razr. The device is now receiving the Android 10 update globally. Yes, the update brings along all the Android 10 features but there’s something even more exclusive from Motorola. The update brings home some of the coolest features for the secondary display.

We get to see some really useful features for the secondary display on the Moto Razr. Well, now you can swipe left on the Quick View to call anyone from your favorite contacts. Yes, that’s true! You can call up people without actually opening the phone. Moreover, you can also send quick replies to messages using the Smart Reply and Quick View keyboard. Well, you can also use an improved camera app on the secondary display. It comes with more modes than before and a lot more.

Motorola Edge+ will get Android 11 [Confirmed]:

The Motorola Edge+ is the latest premium flagship by Motorola. The phone was announced by the OEM on April 22 and will soon be hitting the markets. The device itself comes with a stunning 6.7-inch OLED curved display. It further houses the extremely powerful Qualcomm SM8250 Snapdragon 865 chipset. The device comes with Android 10 out of the box. The device is a flagship killer but at a price. Motorola’s done a great job with this device.

The question now arises, whether the device will get further OS updates or not? Of course, it will, given the fact that it is a recent flagship that comes with Android 10 out of the box. However, there was no confirmation about the Android 11 update for the device until now. A Motorola spokesperson has now confirmed that the device will be getting the Android 11 update. This is what the spokesperson said:

We will support with software updates as frequently and for as long as we feel it benefits our consumers. While we don’t have an absolute commitment to numbers of upgrades, Edge consumers can expect security updates every other month and an upgrade to Android 11 OS this year.

Wait, what? This is totally not fair. How can Motorola say that they will only be releasing a single OS update for such an expensive flagship? While the device does offer such levels of specs and is the most amazing flagship by the OEM so far, how come this happened? However, as the spokesperson said that it is not absolute as of now. The device might as well end up getting the Android 12 update as well. Or, perhaps Android 11 will be the last cheery on top for the Edge+. Only, time will tell us what is going to happen. Well, other than anything else, we have this great news that Android 11 will be making it’s way to the Edge+.

It will as well also be one of the first devices to bag the Android 11 update. That being said, let’s wait and see what all comes to the Edge+ in the future.

Stay tuned for further updates on Motorola Android updates and more such related content. Also, share this article with all those Moto lovers who have been waiting for these updates.
