Marvel Rivals False Ban Issue troubling players Is there any fix yet

With every new competitive game comes a bunch of cheaters hell-bound on ruining the experience for everyone. But what’s even more annoying is when a game falsely flags you for a cheater! Yes, that is a problem that many Marvel Rivals players are having to deal with. What is worse is that these falsely flagged players have had their accounts banned! So, what is up with these false bans, and have the devs acknowledged this issue? Let’s find out.

Every now and then, you might get into a flow state and give a hard time to your enemies. But in Marvel Rivals, when you do that, you get flagged for cheating and chances are that your account will be banned. And you don’t have to ace in a session to get banned! Some unfortunate players had their accounts banned for seemingly nothing. To give you an idea of how annoying this issue could be: One player shared their experience of getting banned for cheating, despite not having started playing the game until 10 days after the alleged violation occurred. That’s absurd. So, let’s take a deeper dive into this situation and unravel whether a fix for this problem exists.

So, here is the deal: the issue of false bans in Marvel Rivals has not been addressed effectively so far, and there isn’t a robust system in place for players to appeal these bans. Many, like yourself, who experience false bans are left with limited options, the primary one being to contact Marvel Rivals support and report the issue. However, if you want to make sure that you don’t get falsely banned from the game, follow the suggestions mentioned below:

Cross-platform and Anti-Cheat

One player reports being banned after playing Marvel Rivals on Macs through Crossover. It appears that the game’s anti-cheat system may block compatibility layers like CrossOver, which could have triggered the ban. Since customer support confirmed the permanent ban with no further assistance, it is advised to avoid playing on multiple platforms with the same account to prevent potential conflicts with the game’s anti-cheat system in the future.

Using crossover on Mac is sure to get you banned, as reported by numerous players. So, to avoid being banned, stop using Crossover altogether. Instead, play the game on a supported platform such as a native Windows PC or a different environment that doesn’t involve compatibility layers like Crossover, which can interfere with the anti-cheat system.

Cheat programs

Another player has suggested that having cheat programs, such as Cheat Engine, installed or running on your PC—even unintentionally—can trigger a ban, as anti-cheat systems often flag such programs. Even if you weren’t actively using cheat tools, their mere presence on your system might be enough for the anti-cheat system to classify your account as suspicious. Therefore, check that no suspicious or unauthorized programs are installed or running in the background while playing the game to avoid potential bans.

Mods and other apps

Make sure there are no applications open in the background, like mods or FPS boosters. These programs/mods can trigger abnormal data flagged by the anti-cheat system, even if no cheating occurs. According to anti-cheat bot support, it’s advised to avoid having other applications running in the background while playing Marvel Rivals.

Those are the most effective workarounds we have for now for the false ban issues in Marvel Rivals. However, if you somehow get banned falsely, make sure to contact the official Marvel Support team.
