Madden NFL 24 may be an excellent game for fans of the sport, but it is not free from bugs and errors. In this article, we will be looking at the “Blurry Issue” that has been troubling players on multiple platforms since the launch of the early access version of the game on August 15. Well, keep reading to know if there is a fix yet for this problem.
According to players, while cutscenes and loading screens appear fine, the in-game graphics, including players and jerseys, appear blurry and improperly rendered. Now, this could be due to a range of factors, such as your graphics settings, hardware limitations, or even a possible bug in the game. Let’s see what the deal is all about.
Madden NFL 24 Blurry Issue: Is there any fix yet
So, as of writing this article, there is no official fix for this issue yet. However, you can try some of the potential workarounds that have worked for similar issues with the previous game. Since this issue is occurring on both PCs and consoles, we have discussed the workarounds separately.
PC
Restart:
The first thing to do when facing any error is to close the game, followed by your PC. Let it say unplugged for a minute or two, plug it back in, and see if this simple workaround does the trick for you.
Update Graphic Drivers:
Keeping your GPU drivers updated is imperative if you want a smooth gaming experience. You can do so by going to the official website of the GPU manufacturer and downloading the latest available drivers for the model you are using. After downloading, follow the on-screen instructions to install the drivers. While you are at it, also make sure that your PC meets the minimum requirements of the game.
Verify the game files:
Depending on where you got the copy of the game—Steam, Epic, or EA—you can use the verify integrity feature to check your game files and repair them. On Steam, you will have to open your library.
After this, right-click on the game and select “Properties”. Go to the “Local Files” tab and click on “Verify Integrity of Game Files.” For Epic, open your Epic Games Library. Click on the three dots (…) next to the game title, select Manage, and then “Verify” from the drop-down menu. Finally, for the EA app, open your EA app library. Right-click on the game and select “Repair”. After the scan is complete, launch the game and check if the issue persists.
Change in-game Settings:
It is possible that you have not yet optimized your in-game settings according to your system capabilities, resulting in blurry issues. So, to start off, use the settings given below for optimal performance. Feel free to alter the values of these settings if you have a powerful gaming PC, or else stick to the ones we have listed below. These settings can help optimize your game’s performance while maintaining good visuals. To access these settings, head to the Graphics tab in the in-game Settings menu.
- FullScreen Resolution: As per the native resolution of your monitor
- Window Mode: Fullscreen
- Frame Rate: 30/60
- V-Sync: Off
- Dynamic Resolution: Always Off
- HDR: Auto Detect (Enable if your monitor or TV supports it)
- Rendering Quality: Custom
- 3D Grass: Always On
- Advanced hair: Always Off.
- Ambient Occlusion: On
- Ambient Occlusion Quality: Low
- Lens Flare, Depth of Field, Fog, and Bloom: Off
- High-Resolution Depth of Field: Off
- Mesh Quality: Go with Medium
- Texture Quality: Choose Medium if you have over 6GB VRAM or Low for 4GB VRAM or less
- Shadow Quality: Low
- Crowd Quality: Low
After you apply these settings, save the changes, and then check if the blurry issue persists.
Consoles
Restart/Powercycle your console:
Just like with PCs, close the game and the console altogether. Now, remove its connection from the power socket and wait for a minute or two. After this, plug everything back in and boot your console up. If luck favors you, this will take care of the blurry issue in the game.
Performance mode setting:
Performance mode, as the name suggests, prioritizes performance over graphics. As such, it’s particularly helpful for mitigating issues like these, provided you are okay with having somewhat less visual quality in games. You can switch between performance and quality modes by going to Settings > Saved Data and Game/App Settings > Game Presets. On the right side, you will see the option – Performance Mode or Resolution/Quality Mode. Click on it and set it to Performance Mode. If the blurry issue persists, switch to Quality Mode and check again.
Clear cache:
Now, the steps to clear the cache are slightly different for Xbox and PlayStation. On an Xbox, you can clear the cache by navigating to the Settings menu, selecting System > Console Info > Reset Console, and choosing to Keep My Games and Apps.
On a PlayStation console, however, start by turning off the console completely. Then, hold the power button until you hear a second beep after 5-7 seconds. Connect your controller using a USB cable, press the PS Button, and navigate to “5. Clear Cache and Rebuild Database”. Choose “1. Clear System Software Cache” and confirm by selecting “OK.” This process helps refresh the system’s cache and might resolve performance issues.
Ingame Setting:
While in the game, head to the in-game settings and then to the Graphics tab. Here, you will see an option that reads “Performance Mode”. Set it to “Image Quality” and save the changes. Now, restart the game, and then check if the issue persists.
Reinstall:
Finally, if none of the above-mentioned workarounds work, the last thing left to do is to uninstall the game completely and then install it all over again. Hopefully, a fresh copy will be free from these issues.
Well, these are some potential fixes for the blurry issue in Madden NFL 24 on PC and consoles. Keep in mind that with the full release of the game, an update or patch may drop that will eventually address this and other issues in the game. So, if none of the workarounds fix the issue, you just have to wait for the Day 1 patch to be released, which might fix this issue for good. Anyway, we hope this guide was helpful.
