Luma Island is cozy and relaxing and can have you hooked on it for hours. So far, the game has been doing well, with almost all players loving it. Still, it is not free of issues, and you too might have faced a couple. That being said, in this guide, we will go over the issue with the Blacksmith Milo! So, if you are not able to interact with Milo in Luma Island, keep reading to see if there is a fix for this yet.
Many players like yourself are having to deal with this bug, where the Blacksmith NPC, Milo just refuses to interact! Obviously, this will stop you from progressing further in the game. For some, when attempting to complete a crafting-related task, the game falsely claims the item wasn’t made by the player, causing the task to loop or reset, making progression impossible.
Luma Island Unable to Interact with Blacksmith Milo NPC Issue: Is there any fix yet
While the developers have not explicitly acknowledged this specific bug on the Steam discussion forums or other public threads, there is confirmation from a player who reported the issue to support and received a response. The developers have indicated that they are aware of the problem and are actively working on a fix. They have also provided a temporary workaround. We have explained it all below.
Dev’s Response
The developers of Luma Island have acknowledged the issue with Milo, the Blacksmith NPC on Luma Island, through an official response to support. According to the response, the bug occurs because Milo’s interaction logic currently only checks for exactly one Crown of Luma Island in the player’s inventory. If the player has more than one Crown, Milo will refuse to interact, rendering the task submission impossible. Thankfully, it has been identified as a bug, and the developers have already implemented a fix in their internal build. The fix will be rolled out in the 1.0.4 hotfix, which is scheduled for release next week. So, keep an eye out for this hotfix and download it as soon as it is released!
Workaround
As a temporary workaround for the Milo interaction bug in Luma Island, there are ways by which you can ensure that you have exactly one Crown of Luma Island in your inventory. All you have to do is store any extras in a chest or sell them. This should enable Milo to recognize the Crown and allow task submission. If the issue persists, the devs have advised players to check if they have completed all prior steps in the master questline, including repairing the boat to the Jungle Island, as incomplete prerequisites may also prevent progress.
Well, that is all the information we have on the Milo interaction bug in Luma Island. We hope that the patch drops soon and fixes the issue once and for all.
