If the power comes on and then goes off again, it can happen for many reasons. During inclement weather, trees can sway and make contact with power lines that can cause a brief disruption in your service. But during a longer event, trees can weaken and break and cause more damage to the power lines and that would need crews to come out and make repairs. In other situations, crews will make temporary repairs for restoring the service as quickly as possible But, they will need to disrupt the service again to make the permanent repairs later.
Also, sometimes the service might go out for different reasons like –
- Wildlife in the equipment.
- Work in the area.
- An equipment malfunction.
- A severed underground line.
- A fire in the area.
- Maintenance of the electrical system in the area.
- Trees or limbs in the lines.
- A motor vehicle accident.
- An unknown cause.
Sometimes it might happen that services can get affected by a planned outage in the area so that the crews can perform upgrades and repairs to the service. They make every effort to offer advance notification of any planned outage that can make any impact in your service.
