Released as an early access title on October 23, 2023, Lethal Company seems to be enjoying a steady influx of new players. In fact, at the time of publishing this guide, the game achieved a 24-hour peak player count of about 52K players (data sourced from SteamDB). And that’s not an easy number to achieve, considering how niche the horror co-op genre is. With so many new players coming in and trying out the game, many are wondering if they can use Compass in Lethal Company.
Phasmophobia, another famous game in the same vein as Lethal Company, features a lot of tools that players can use to hunt ghosts or supernatural entities. And just like that, Lethal Company has a myriad of tools that can be used for a variety of purposes. From the Pro-Flashlight, and Walkie-Talkie to the Boombox and Jet-Pack, there’s a good amount of equipment in the game that can be used for various purposes. So, is the compass in that list of tools in Lethal Company? Continue reading to find out!
Lethal Company: Can you use a Compass?
Unfortunately, Lethal Company players will have to make do with whatever tools they have, as the compass isn’t available in the game right now. The community certainly wants one, but so far Zeekerss, the developer behind Lethal Company, hasn’t announced anything related to it.
While the game is certainly fun, many players are having a hard time properly discerning directions and such. One look at the Steam Discussion section of the game, and you will see just how many posts are there asking for Compass to be included in the game due to one reason or another. Aside from that, not adding a compass or something akin to that also affects the immersion a bit. And the lore too, of course. With all these technological advancements in the game where the player is flying a ship and scavenging moons, you would think that the Company would offer its contract workers something as basic as a compass, but here we are.
However, players should also keep in mind that Lethal Company just entered early access a few weeks ago, and as such, there’s some time before the game sees its full release. Zeekerss mentioned in the Early Access FAQ section that Lethal Company is supposed to stay in its early access state for six more months, but that time frame can expand depending on how the development of the game turns out. And during this phase, it’s possible that Zeekerss will add a compass to the game after acknowledging the demand for it. However, since there is no confirmation of the same, consider taking this information with a pinch of salt. So, for now, players can take the wait-and-see approach when it comes to the compass and enjoy the game as it is.
Well, now that you know whether you can use a compass in Lethal Company, consider reading this guide for some workarounds to fix the infinite loading screen in the game.
