Seven years ago, Yone was introduced in the lore of League of Legends and players have been wondering the mystery that shrouded him at all times. Let us jump into the lore of the two brothers as told by narrative writer Michael “Riot Pls” Yichao.
“Initially I wanted Yone to be sort of like an ‘echo fighter’ to Yasuo. We wanted to lower Yasuo’s pick rate, which sounds really weird! But it’s actually healthy for League,” says champion designer Jonathan “EndlessPillows” Fuller. “Yasuo is the highest played champion in League. Giving Yasuo mains another option with a similar playstyle helps increase champion diversity, and that keeps each game feeling fresh.”
So the trouble came between juggling Yone’s abilities and making them different from Yasuo, the most played hero in LoL. Now Michael worked with the idea of a post-death Yone. He went through a perilous path in the spirit realm and emerged changed!
So Yone defeated a demon named Akazana and gained his second blade. The first blade is originally a wind blade that he used before dying.
Yone Ability Kit
Tremendous amounts of damage incoming as Yone prepares to slash you in 4 pieces with his dual blade. His Q is a sword thrust that is only with his wind blade like his brother Yasuo. The thrust gains stacks making it an incredibly powerful ability. For his W, he has a shield that stays up for a short time.

He has also got a passive ability that increases his damage for every second attack. With one click of an E he gets into a Spirit form. Last, Yone’s ultimate crushes all his opponents standing in a straight line and allows him to reposition behind them as well. The ability also lifts the enemies up in the air.
Yone should be available to play in Summoner’s rift by Patch 10.16 and in PBE by next week.
Passive – Way of the Hunter
Yone uses two blades, causing every second attack to deal more magic damage. His critical strike chance is also doubled, but his critical strikes deal reduced damage.
Q – Mortal Steel
Yone thrusts forward, dealing physical damage to opponents. On hit, he gains a stack of Gathering Storm. At two stacks, Yone can dash forward with a wave that makes enemies airborne.
W – Spirit Cleave
He cleaves forward in a massive arc, dealing a portion of the target’s maximum health. After successfully hitting an enemy, Yone also gains a temporary shield. The shield’s power increases per champion struck.
E – Soul Unbound
Yone can enter his Spirit Form, gaining movement speed and leaving his body behind. When the Spirit Form expires, he’ll snap back into his body and deal a percentage of all the damage he dealt while in Spirit Form.
R – Fate Sealed
Yone strikes all enemies in his path, blinking behind the last enemy hit and knocking everyone airborne towards him.
