Ahri and Udyr League of Legends 10.15 Vfx update

A long overdue update is arriving to the live servers. Ahri and Udyr are getting a VFX update in the wake of the next major 10.15 patch. The changes were already seen on the PBE last week, where Devs asked for feedback on the new VFX. These updates included Udyr’s every skin and Ahri’s base skin to fixing the infamous Udyr Bug.

Ahri VFX Update

It has been a long time since Ahri saw any change to her skin or effects. The last update was back in patch 7.23 in November 2017. That change was also a minor bug fix, other than that she has never been visually revamped. In the new patch, Senior Visual Effects artist Kevin “Riot Sirhaian” Leroy is aiming to keep Ahri’s VFX up to date.

  • Base skin- Hit effects and missiles look cleaner
  • Q- A hitbox is added for hit effects. Healing missiles are now in green.
  • W- A cooler and up to date visual for fox-fires, missiles, and hit effects.
  • E- Accurate hitbox with slicker visual for hit.
  • R- A better cast animation and ground buff effects.

Udyr VFX Update

Udyr has some big visual problems. The whole texture of Udyr skins just makes him bland and ancient. Even Udyr has had only 1 VFX update since his release in 2009. The Riot team decided to improve his looks and gameplay feel. We must say on the PBE, Udyr new VFX looks super cool! Here is the list of his updates:

  • P: A cooler movement speed boost effect
  • BA: Slicker hit effect.
  • Q: Tiger form looks very cool! New transform effect added coupled with overhead symbol.
  • W: Turtle shield is very new and smart. Another new transform effect with overhead symbol.
  • E: Stun effect on bear changed with new transform effect and overhead symbol.
  • R: New transform effect and overhead symbol. Phoenix has new AOE and cone effects.
