iRacing has now got some tough competition thanks to Studio 397’s latest title, Le Mans Ultimate. Released as an early access game on Steam, it is already collecting praise, with some calling it a particularly good work-in-progress sim. Now, with Le Mans Ultimate being such a fresh release, there’s a lot of curiosity surrounding it. And, something that a lot of players want to know is whether the game supports mods, HDR, Ultrawide, Super Ultrawide, AMD FSR 3, and DLSS.
Getting to know if a game has support for features like this plays an important part in a lot of players’ buying decisions. However, the developers too have their reasons for not including a feature in the game at launch, which can range from developmental constraints to the feature being down on the priority list. So, what’s the case with Le Mans Ultimate? Can you enjoy it with HDR, Ultrawide, Super Ultrawide, AMD FSR 3, and DLSS? Let’s go ahead and find out!
Le Mans Ultimate Mod, HDR, Ultrawide (21:9), Super Ultrawide (32:9), AMD FSR 3 & DLSS Support Details
Starting with the bad news, Le Mans Ultimate doesn’t happen to have HDR support at the moment. So, for now, players will have to make do with whatever display settings the game offers. And while there being no HDR support is certainly a bummer, players can at least rest happy knowing that Le Mans Ultimate has support for both ultrawide and super ultrawide from the get-go.
Unfortunately, there’s nothing but disappointment from here on out. Developer Studio 397 didn’t include support for upscaling technology in the game, which some players were eagerly waiting for. However, from what we can gather so far, Le Mans Ultimate seems to run quite well on a myriad of GPUs out there. So, you can do just fine without upscaling like the AMD FSR 3 or DLSS. Also, while we are on the topic of upscaling, we don’t really think the game will get AMD FSR 3. At least for some time. In 2023, AMD announced a list of games that are confirmed to get FSR 3 and that list happens to be quite small. Unfortunately, Le Mans Ultimate isn’t on that list. If the developers do introduce upscaling to the game, we believe that it will be limited to DLSS and either FSR 1 or 2.
By the way, for players expecting to play Le Mans Ultimate with mods, get ready for another disappointment, as Studio 397 has clarified that they don’t plan on adding mod support at the moment. This is what the mod section of the game’s FAQ states about mod support:
“There are no current plans to support modded content on Le Mans Ultimate.”
So, for now, you will have to enjoy the game as it is. In case Studio 397 does add unsupported features later on, we will be sure to let our readers know all about it.
