It’s hard to recommend any other racing sims when iRacing exists. Released back in 2008, it’s amassed a pretty loyal and huge following over the years. And it’s all been possible thanks to regular content updates, officially sanctioned racing events, and such. That’s not all, though. iRacing has even got a VR mode, allowing for a more immersive simulation. However, recently, many players have been complaining about their mouse not working properly when in VR mode.
An issue like this one can be caused by a myriad of factors. Sometimes it could be due to other programs interfering with the game, while at the same time, the cause could be UI or resolution size. Regardless of what the cause is, this issue needs to be resolved. So, are there any fixes for this? Well, let’s go ahead and find out.
iRacing VR mouse not working issue: How to fix it?
Here are a bunch of workarounds for you to try:
Press the Windows key –
A common fix for this issue happens to be pressing the Windows key to bring up the Game bar and then closing it. After that, get back to the game and see if the issue persists. If it does, switch to the next workaround.
Reposition iRacing –
Another fix for this is to simply reposition iRacing. For this, you need to hold down the shift key and right-click on the game’s icon in the taskbar. From the options present, select Move to reposition the iRacing window on the screen. Oculus users can also try minimizing the Oculus app and then following the same method.
Minimize all other programs or windows –
If you’ve got other windows or programs open, make sure to minimize all of them except for iRacing. Once done, switch back to the game and if the issue persists, try the next method.
Switch to Desktop controls –
Players can also try switching to Desktop Controls and see if that helps. Basically, you need to press the Windows + Y buttons on your keyboard and the controls will switch to Desktop. From there, you can check if the mouse works or not.
Resize game’s resolution and UI Size –
If you are unable to properly use the mouse cursor, we suggest that you resize the game’s resolution and UI size. At times, UI size can turn out to be too big, resulting in issues like this one. Resizing should help with this so give it a try.
Reinstall –
If none of the aforementioned workarounds are of help, we highly recommend that you reinstall iRacing. Just uninstall the game from your PC and start a new download. Once it’s installed, launch the game and see if you still encounter this issue.
