Likewise, the setting of the game takes place under an underground Mesopotamian temple during the 2003 Iraq War. The 5 playable characters include CIA officer Rachel King, her husband, USAF Lt. Colonel Eric King, USMC Force Recon 1st Lt. Jason Kolchek & Sgt. Nick Kay, and Iraqi Republican Guard Lt. Salim Othman.
House of Ashes also brings new gameplay elements & features to the series. Likewise, the new entry introduces various difficulty levels for the quick-time events. The game features 4 main modes. Additionally, there is a Curator’s cut, which allows players to experience the story from the perspective of another character. The cut is available only to players who pre-order the game. Player’s can access the Curator’s cut in the Perspective mode.
The game is mainly a single-player experience. However, there are also some multiplayer modes that players can enjoy with friends. Likewise, two multiplayer modes from the previous games, also return in House of Ashes.
