The trailer describes the gameplay as “Sonic like never before” and rightly so because as we earlier stated, the game is actually a compilation of four games in the Sonic series. Also, new modes and scenes from across the years of the game’s existence have been added. Classic mode allows players to enjoy the game in its original format, story mode lets players play the four compiled games in a sequence, while anniversary mode allows widescreen display. Sega timed the release of the game to coincide with the company’s 31st anniversary and to be available for modern consoles including; Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Epic Game Store. Nothing has been officially stated about the game being made available for mobile devices. However, since developers say part of their intentions for developing the game is to make it available on modern platforms, it is too early to completely rule out a Sonic Origins Mobile Release Date.
