A Redditor who goes by the name u/internationhottie created a thread about a major issue. Some messages of users on Instagram have vanished from the account. Here’s what the user posted:
Hi everyone,
So as of yesterday, I noticed that a few different DM threads have completely disappeared in my messages with friends that I talk to a lot. This is super frustrating because there are messages that I haven’t read yet and then when I go to the DM, my replies AND theirs are completely gone and there will just be one message from the other person.
I also checked on my iPad and some of the DMs for some people are there, and for others, it’s still showing nothing.
Does anyone know what’s going on and how I can get my messages back?? There are some really important ones that I’m missing. Pretty urgent.

To this, a bunch of people instantly replied about facing the same issue. One user stated that the same problem started with them a couple of minutes ago. Another one quickly added how the issue is being found common and all we can do is wait.
What’s the solution?
Some users have reported that the messages are completely visible when Instagram is used on PC.
But there’s no official solution provided till now. The issue hasn’t been addressed by the officials either. But a user came across a simple way to get the messages back. If you are missing the DM/ conversation of a person, in particular, try unfollowing the person and re-following. This must bring back the message. But if not, all you can do now is just wait until the issue is officially addressed.
