Since the ban imposed on Huawei, officials have been trying their hearts and minds out on bringing alternatives. Nothing can replace the services brought to us by Android, and the Google Apps package that comes pre-installed in Android-based devices. So, instead of fighting their way out and providing alternatives for these apps and services, Huawei now has a laid out plan to launch a completely different operating system for smartphones, replacing it’s very own custom skin EMUI.
We post in the mid of the year 2020 stating that Huawei has already begun its work on HarmonyOS, an Android operating system alternative- more like a rival software. This software will be open to not just Huawei devices but to any and every smartphone that is willing to adapt to the framework.
Now talking about the apps, it is still unclear how HarmonyOS will bring out access to GApps or come up with an alternative nearly as good as any from Google. However, Huawei will continue with the AppGallery, the brand’s very own app store for Huawei devices!
