Turn off Single player settings in ARK

For ARK players, the single-player mode opened up multiple opportunities. If you wanted to play the game offline, the single-player mode allowed it. If you wanted to play it solo without joining other players, you could do that as well. The game’s single-player mode is as popular as its multiplayer. In fact, we’ve already shared our take on the best single-player settings for ARK. However, not all players prefer playing alone. Furthermore, some players are seasoned veterans of the game, and they don’t prefer playing with the single-player buffs. This makes it imperative for players to know how to turn off single-player settings in the game. So, if you are looking for details regarding the same, consider reading this guide until the end.

Despite being a popular feature in the game, some fans of the game don’t really prefer the single-player settings. The developers claimed that these settings are for balancing out the game. However, some players don’t like the fact that these settings increase the stats and bonuses, which makes the game pretty flat. Annoyed by this, they want to know whether it’s possible to turn off the single-player settings in the game or not. So, let’s find that out now!

Turn off Single player settings in ARK

If you’ve been playing ARK for a long time, then you know that enabling these settings is quite easy. You get to do that by checkmarking the “Use Single Player Settings” option while hosting a server. However, disabling this isn’t that straightforward all the time. You have two different methods that you can use if you want to turn off the single-player settings in the game. We have shared them below:

Disabling Single Player Settings on the Server

  • Launch ARK on your device and from the main menu, click on Host/Local.
  • Find the General settings tab on this window and click on it.
  • Scroll down, and you’ll find the “Use Single Player Settings” option. Uncheck the box next to it.
  • Click on Save and Exit to apply the changes.
  • Go back to the main menu, and start or resume your game. You will find that the single-player settings have been disabled.

Disabling the Single Player Settings via the GameUserSettings.ini File

  • Open your Steam client and go to Library.
  • Locate ARK and right-click on the game.
  • Select Manage and go to Local Files.
  • This should take you to the following directory: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ARK“.
  • Here, go to the Shooter Games folder, then open the Saved folder.
  • Open the Config folder and then open WindowsNoEditor.
  • Here, locate the GameUserSettings.ini file and open it using a notepad.
  • Change the value of the bUseSingleplayerSettings to false.
  • Save the file and restart the game. You should now see that your game has disabled the single-player settings.

Well, so that’s how you can turn off single-player settings in ARK. Hopefully, we were able to help you with this guide. If you enjoyed reading this guide and want to read more such gaming content, stay tuned to DigiStatement!
