How to turn off Motion Blur in Scorn

One of the newest and finest atmospheric FPS games, Scorn has arrived and delivers a compelling horror experience. Visually, it is one of the most beautiful horror games on the market and one can definitely see the passion of the developers. However, there are a few video settings that can hamper the in-game experience, and motion blur is one such setting. For players, who are prone to motion sickness, it can cause dizziness and epilepsy, and disabling it prevents such issues. Sadly the in-game setting doesn’t allow one to change motion blur, and that’s where this article comes in. Continue reading the article to know about Scorn and how to turn off Motion Blur in it.

How to turn off Motion Blur in Scorn

While most players are fine with all of the default settings enabled in Scorn, some can experience nausea with motion blur. There’s also the fact that it doesn’t have crosshair and combining it with motion blur can give one a hard time enjoying this game. Changing FOV (Field of View) to a higher value can fix this and is something we’ll recommend you experiment with. Anyways, if you’re searching for how to disable Motion Blur in the game, we have put all the information in the below section.

How to turn off motion blur in Scorn?

Many who bought Scorn took to various forums like Reddit, Steam, and more in search of finding a way to disable motion blur. Turns out Motion Blur is enabled in the game by default. Sadly you can’t turn off some of the features like Chromatic Abberation, Motion Blur, Vignette, and Depth of Field in the options menu. However, in PC gaming, there’s always a loophole that allows one to manually change them. Luckily Scorn also has one of those loopholes and disabling motion blur is possible by editing the configuration file.

To disable motion blur, head to the C:\Users\{YourUser}\AppData\Local\Scorn\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor. In the folder, look for the engine.ini file and open it with Notepad. Here, you can disable a few of the above settings for a better experience. However, if you only want motion blur disabled, then you have to paste the below setting.

[SystemSettings]
r.MotionBlurQuality=0

Save the setting and launch Scorn and then the motion blur will be disabled and now you can fully enjoy the game. We hope that you enjoyed reading this article. Stay tuned for more updates about Scorn, guides, news, and more at Digistatement.
