How to transfer Far Cry 6 Saved Game Files from Ubisoft Connect to Steam?

Far Cry 6 is a role-playing game, that allows its players to level up in the game and save their progress. This feature is especially exciting to the players, as it assures them the game is not without a plot or progressive path. Players are encouraged to play a game when there is a progress report. This makes transferring or performing any sort of change to the saved game files a major deal. Players who want to transfer their saved files safely from Ubisoft Connect to Steam have come to the right place. Transferring files, or cross-progression means players are able to play their game and continue their progress on any platform they wish. This cross-progression was given a green flag by Ubisoft and is now a possibility, meaning players are free to transfer their saved game files. The process of transferring is quite simple and does not require much, so let’s dive into it.

How to transfer Far Cry 6 Saved Game Files from Ubisoft Connect to Steam?

To transfer your Far Cry 6 saved game files from Ubisoft Connect to Steam, you need to conduct the process manually. We know how boring and tedious it sounds, but it’s the only way. It ensures your files are not lost within the system. Luckily, there are two workarounds you can try to transfer your saved game files from Ubisoft Connect to Steam in a safe way.

Link your Account

Even though cross-progression is possible between all platforms, Ubisoft advises players to link their accounts in order to transfer files. If your accounts are already linked, you can skip this and directly jump to the next step. To link your Ubisoft account, go to the Linked Accounts section > Click on Link > Select the logo of the platform you want to connect. However, some platforms have specific requirements in order to link the accounts. For Steam, launch Far Cry 6 via Steam client > Select Continue on the pop-up for starting the game, this will open a window on your browser > Log in to your Ubisoft Account > Click on Link Accounts. Now, make sure to link your Steam Account. You can only continue or initiate a transfer once the accounts are linked.

Upload and Download from Cloud

The first and foremost step would be to upload your saved files to the cloud. To do so, launch Far Cry 6 on Ubisoft Connect > go to the Main Menu > Select New Game > locate the files you wish to upload > Select the files > Select Upload Save to Cloud. This will automatically save your files on Cloud, making the transfer easier. You can now download the files from Cloud on other platforms.

Now, for the transfer process, you would need to download the files from Cloud onto your Steam account. Launch the game via the Steam client > Open the Main Menu > Go to Load Save from the Cloud. Players would need to empty their save slot to download the saved files, and once done, you can transfer the files easily. This simple step will immediately download and transfer your saved game files to Steam. If the option ‘Load Save’ from the Cloud’ is greyed out for you, it means the upload was not completed, or went wrong. Don’t worry, your files will be safe if you’ve backed them up. You would need to upload the files again, and wait for a confirmation pop-up and try again.

Copy the Files

The other workaround to transfer your Far Cry 6 from Ubisoft Connect to Steam is to do it manually. Players can copy their saved files from the “*Ubisoft launcher installation folder*\savegames\*randomcharacters*\5266” to another folder in the same directory ending with the number “920”. Doing so will transfer the saved progress to Steam. One thing players need to keep in mind is that they need to disable cloud sync on the Ubisoft launcher before copying if they have already launched the game via Steam.

Despite taking up time, these steps ensure your files are safely transferred from one platform to another without you losing any progress in the game. So, these workarounds are all you need to successfully transfer your Far Cry 6 saved game files from Ubisoft Connect to Steam. Well, this brings us to the end of the guide, and we hope the workarounds mentioned above prove to be of help.
