Nintendo eShop not available error

Nintendo by far has one of the best facilities that a gaming console can have. Apart from having a robust build quality and a great user experience, Nintendo provides the facility of compatibility and compactness. Because of its small size and detachable joy-con, it can be taken anywhere and everywhere. Moreover, the facility of e-shop and 3rd party apps makes it a full entertainment-packed console. But errors often ruin our fun, hence in this article, we are going to discuss the error code 2618-0501.

This is one of the most common error codes and the reason behind this is trivial. This error code describes that you were disconnected or your internet connection has timed out before the matchmaking process. This error occurs when you are in the midst of an online match over the server. It happens due to a bad internet connection or distant wireless network.

Error Code 2618-0501 Solutions

Here are some of the solutions that you can try.

  • Try to restart your wireless or wired equipment. Restarting or power cycling your equipment may leave your console unresponsive for a couple of seconds during matchmaking, but it may work like a charm.
  • Try to bring your console closer to your wireless equipment. Bad internet connection is often the result of great distance. If you see two bars in your Wi-Fi symbol, then you may reconsider sitting close to the router and check if this trick works or not.
  • Avoid keeping any metal object near your console. Metal objects usually tend to interfere with wireless networks hence, you must remove all metal objects around you (as much as possible).
  • Manually entering your DNS values can also help in some cases. In the System settings of your console, go to System. Under System, visit the Internet.  Select your provider and scroll down to DNS settings. Click on it to change the values. By default, it is set to automatic. Click on the manual option and give the primary and secondary DNS codes. You can get those from the internet but for reference try primary DNS: 1.1.1.1 secondary DNS: 1.0.1.0. Click on save and restart your device.
