How to fix Microsoft Store error code 0 x C0020036 while downloading apps/games

Over the past few years, Steam and other gaming clients have launched a proper store to download the games. Other applications can also be downloaded similarly. However, the built-in Microsoft Store that is embedded in the Windows operating system that you are using, is also easily accessible. At times, when this store throws an error, people tend to believe that it is an unmanageable error and nothing can be done. Today, we are going to help you fix the Microsoft error code 0xC0020036. This is a very common error that people have encountered countless times. All you have to do is follow the solution mentioned below correctly.

Prior to solving any error, ensure that your Windows OS is up to date. Open the Windows menu and click on settings. Now, scroll down to Update and Security. If you see any updates in the list that are pending, download and install those. You can also open this update window by searching Check for Updates in the windows search bar.

Steps to solve error code 0xC0020036

Now, right-click on the Windows icon. Click on Windows Powershell(admin) to open it as an administrator. You have to follow the steps for entering and executing the following commands.

  • Type in the command – Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted
  • Press Enter and then press the ‘A’ key to select the Yes to All option.
  • Press Enter to apply the first command.
  • Now, type in the next command – Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}
  • Then, press Enter and wait for the process to finish.

Once you are done with the above steps, restart your system. You can launch the Microsoft Store and check for the error code 0xC0020036. This is a very common error. In case you are using Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 Operating system, the process will be similar. You can follow these to fix the error.
