Call of Duty (COD) Vanguard: How to change reticle?

Call of Duty Warzone is an amazing game and there is no doubt regarding it. But, the game has faced a lot of backlash from the players over the years. One of the biggest reasons for such backlash is the presence of a lot of bugs and glitches.

But if you look at the history of the game, you will see that it has had a long list of bugs and glitches that it has been battling with.

And this list has further been increased with Call of Duty Warzone. The recent bug that we have come across is the ‘dev error 6039’. So what is this new error in the game? According to a lot of players, whenever they try to log into the game, they encounter this “dev error 6039” and the game shows “content package is no longer available”. This makes the game impossible for players to play! And this issue occurs on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox as well!

Call of Duty Warzone Dev Error 6039

Now, the question is that is there any fix available for this issue? Yes, there is! Here is what you have to do if you face the ‘dev error 6039’ in the game Call of Duty Warzone –

COMPLETELY POWER CYCLE THE CONSOLE

The first thing that you can try doing is completely power cycling your console, whatever it is. You can do this by going to the main menu and clicking on the Turn Off console. Then, you have to unplug your console from the wall socket for at least 1 minute and then plug it back in.

LAUNCH THE GAME PROPERLY

Sometimes it happens that you have the game open in the background and you put out your console into Rest mode, and then you restart the game, you might come across this issue since the game has not launched properly. So try launching the game properly as it might solve the issue.

DISABLE ON-DEMAND TEXTURE STREAMING

Here is one more thing that you can do. Click on the game and then click on Options. From the list, go over to Graphics and scroll down to the On-demand Texture Streaming option. Sometimes, having this enabled can lead to this dev error as well.

So simply disable this. This was a big issue with the new Pacific update where either the guns were not loading or the textures were not loading, etc. So turning this off might solve the issue!

CHECK FOR ANY PENDING UPDATES IN THE GAME

The next thing that you can do is to check for any updates in the game. This is because if you have any pending updates in the game, it will show you the dev error 6039. So, go to the game on the home screen and click on it. From the list of options, go to check for updates and click on it. If you have any updates pending, just download and install them!

UNINSTALL AND REINSTALL THE GAME

Now if turning off the texture streaming option did not solve the issue, you will have to completely delete the game and reinstall it again on your hard drive. On the PlayStation, it is Warzone and on Xbox, it is Modern Warfare. You can reinstall the game from the respective console store!

TRY CHANGING THE DOWNLOAD LOCATION

If you have an extended hard drive or maybe a different hard drive on your console, you can try changing the download location of the game to fix the dev error. For this, go to the settings on your respective console first. From the options, choose Storage. And then you can try installing the game on a different hard drive.

Or as an alternative, you can try transferring the game to the other hard drive. For this, go on to the game in the settings and click on it. Then click on the Select to Move option and then move the game to the other hard drive. And this might solve the dev error 6039 as well!
