An ethernet wired connection would ensure faster gameplay and lesser ping. In addition, this can provide a reliable connection to the gamers. To connect the Ethernet cable with your PlayStation 4, turn your PS4 device. In the back, PS4 gamers get the option to connect cables like HDMI, AUX. This is where a designated spot would be visible to connect the Ethernet cable. Connect one end of the ethernet cable in this designated spot. Meanwhile, connect the other one in an open spot of your router or your modem.
How To Setup Internet Connection
To set up a new connection on your PlayStation 4, scroll all the way to the top bar. From here, choose Settings.
- As Settings open up, there will be a range of options to choose from. This is where we opt for Network.
- The Network option will henceforth open up. From here, we will go for Set Up Internet Connection.
- Unlike last time, we would be going for LAN cable. So in the optional tab, select Use a LAN Cable.

- To confirm, press on Test Internet Connection. If everything goes well, you will get to see an establishment of a proper Internet connection.
- So the Internet Test would obtain your IP Address, confirm your Internet Connection.
- You will be able to sign in to the PlayStation Network.
- Your NAT type is displayed.
- As you go for an ethernet connection, you will get to notice a good change in the Connection Speed (Download) as well as the Connection Speed (Upload).
