Add FH5 to Steam Library
Adding the Xbox App-installed Forza Horizon 5 to the Steam Library is quite an easy process. Just follow these steps to do it:
- Firstly, you will have to take ownership of the WindowsApps folder as you will not be able to access it. Accessing it is important because every app that you install from Xbox App or Microsoft Store, gets saved to this folder. You can find this folder in the Program Files folder of C drive by default. To take ownership of this folder, follow these steps:
- Follow this path: Right-Click on WindowsApps folder > Properties > Security > Advanced.
- Click on the Change option in front of the Owner.
- Type “Everyone” in the empty box > Check Names > Ok > Check Replace owners on subcontainers and objects > Apply > Ok > Ok.
- Now, go to this path again (Right-Click on WindowsApps folder > Properties > Security > Advanced)
- Click on Add Button under the Permissions category and click on Select a principal.
- Type “Everyone” in the empty box > Check Names > Ok > Check Full Control > Ok > Apply > Ok > Ok
- Now, Open Steam and click on Add a Game option in your Library and select Add a Non-Steam Game.
- Add explorer.exe by browsing to this location: Local Disk C > Windows > explorer.exe
- Once Explorer is added to the Steam, make a right-click on explorer and select Properties.
- Click on Browse and select the target game file. (Default location: Local Disk C > Program Files > WindowsApps > Find the Forza Horizon 5 folder and select ForzaHorizon5.exe)
- Click on Open and it is done. You can also rename explorer as Forza Horizon 5 and also change its icon according to you.
