Disable DNS Adguard
Whether you are playing the game on your PC or mobile device, make sure that you turn off DNS Adguard before trying to log in to the game. Since DNS Adguards create a local VPN when activated, this interferes with the game’s connection to the servers, thereby causing the login error 1001_2 to occur. Well, HoYoverse and third-party plugins don’t really fit together.
Switch to mobile data
If you are using a wifi connection to access the game, try switching to mobile data and then launch the game. However, before doing so, make sure DNS Adguard is disabled.
Change DNS
You can also change your DNS settings(Google DNS) manually to get rid of this issue. Here are the steps for doing so-
For mobile devices
Head to the Settings menu of your mobile device, and access the Network and Sharing tab. Here, find the Private DNS option. Now, select the Designated Private DNS setting, and enter dns.google as the hostname. After this, save the changes, and then launch the game.
For PC (Windows)
Access the Control Panel, and then Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings. Now, right-click on the network connection in use and select Properties. Under the Networking tab, double-click on the Internet Protocol Version 4 option. A new window will appear. Here, under the General tab, click on the Use the following DNS Server Address option, and enter the following DNS Address.
For IPV4- 8.8.8.8 (Primary), 8.8.4.4 (Secondary)
For IPV6- 2001:4860:4860::8888 (Primary), 2001:4860:4860::8844 (Secondary)
Save the changes, and then check if the issue persists.
Disable VPN
Another cause of this issue is a VPN. If you are using a VPN to access the game, consider disabling it, and then try logging in.
