GRID Autosport has gained popularity for being out of the box and eclectic. On a Hybrid Platform like Nintendo Switch, Grid has performed exceptionally well. The only lacking point was the absence of a multiplayer mode which is soon to be fixed. Now Nintendo Switch players will be able to enjoy Grid in the multiplayer mode with the update set to release on July 30th alongside Nintendo Labo Steering wheel support.
In an email announcing the update for game, Codemasters said that they will add Multiplayer mode with three peripherals namely: Nintendo Labo: Vehicle Kit, the HORI pro deluxe wheel and HORI pro mini wheel. This is an attempt to expand the game’s horizon.

This update also adds support for Nintendo Labo, the HORI Pro Deluxe wheel and the HORI Pro Mini wheel.

The Vehicle Kit is a fun and interactive way to attain the arcade-y feel of playing the game with a wheel and a pedal. It basically leverages Joy-con sensors to read wheel turns as well as allow speed changes on a pedal made out of cardboard. Talk about nifty!
Feral Interactive were the original creators of GRID autosport which was released back in 2014 for PS3, XBOX 360 and PC. It received an IOS port later in 2017. Soon it was developed for Ninento switch where it grabbed headlines in 2019. Codemasters and Feral Interactive also released an android version in November last year.
Though there is little competition against Grid for racing games on Switch, it is still very good! The game has an easy feel to it as well as the simulation is on point. Thought it might not be Codemaster’s best work, it still allows racing fans to enjoy new, serious concepts. The addition of Multiplayer also patches some rough ends.
What I would love to see would be the VR version of the game. That is definitely something I wouldn’t wanna miss.
