Google officially announced Google Meet Hardware Series 1 yesterday (September 15, 2020). The announcement was made on several social media platforms, starting with the tweet from Google’s Product Manager. A video was released on YouTube teasing the product, its colors, and some of its cool features.
With the pandemic that’s showing no trace of retreat, meetings and classes held online are now becoming the primary mode of communication, workspace, and much more. Hardware Series 1 is a project to provide maximum real-life experience and surround facilities while using Google Meet.

Google Meet Hardware Series 1 Details-
Initially, Google Meet was not accessible to everybody. To host a meeting, one had to go through a long procedure (including payments) and get authorized as a teacher, business-rep, etc. Thankfully, with an invite link, users can join an existing meeting for free.
But recently, Google officially moved the Google Meet feature to G-Mail, from where anybody can host and join meetings for free. As a result, G-Mail now handles audio communications, video communications, emails, and messaging- a complete package one could expect.
There are 5 main hardware components in the Series 1 kit. This kit is made exclusively for Google Meet. The soundbars come with Google Edge TPUs to deliver TrueVoice, premium noise cancellation, and consistent volume.
The kit will focus to eliminate sounds of mouse and keyboard clicks, including unwanted background noise.
Google is working with Huddy to develop the smart cameras you saw on the images above, which automatically tilt, pan, and zoom as per requirements. Partnering with Mimo, the kit comes with a 10.1-inch ethernet-powered Touch Controller.
The whole kit is powered by the Meet Compute System with the Intel Core i7 processor, 4GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and Google Edge TPUs.
