Where do you go when you need information about something, Google right! Well, there’s a lot more to google than just its eminent search engine. Google also has a lot of other stuff to boast off, such as its renowned Cloud Platform, applications, software and also a variety of hardware devices like Google Home and Dot products, Chromebooks and last but not least Pixel smartphones. Not just that, Google also conducts a lot of events and conferences throughout the year. Some of these events include the Google Summer of Code or GSoC, Google Developer Day, Google I/O and many other amazing events.
The Google I/O is nothing but an annual developer conference held by Google every year. The conference focuses and delivers out all those developments and advancements made by Google in that particular year. Many of the Pixel devices and other Google products including software are showcased and announced at this conference. Android 9 Pie was brought up in the Google I/O 2018 while the Google I/O 2019 showed us the Pixel 3a series and also the Android Q Beta 3.
The Google I/O 2020 was supposed to bring in a lot of such amazing developments and showcase them in this conference. But, seems like something’s wrong! Due to the Coronavirus outbreak(COVID-19), the Google I/O 2020 stood canceled which was supposed to happen at the Shoreline Amphitheatre. Upon considering the concerns regarding COVID-19 and guidance from WHO, Google decided to cancel the event. Google also said that those who had bought tickets for the Google I/O 2020 will get a full refund for the same. As of now, there are no updates from Google about when the conference would take place.
We were expecting to see a lot of amazing new products from Google and also the much talked Android R. Not to forget, the Pixel 5 series devices as well. Google I/O 2020 was surely going to be amazing with a lot of awesome techs to be revealed. Unfortunately, we have to wait for further updates from Google about the conference.
