Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint was released back in 2019 and seems to be still doing well. In fact, at the time of publishing this, the Steam version of the game alone had a 24-hour peak of about 3.9K players. Quite impressive for a game that was released years ago. Besides PC, the game also happens to be on Xbox One and PS4, and many are enjoying GRB on there. However, like any other game, this one also has its own fair share of issues. And a common issue happens to be the Error Code Mountain 00016.
This particular error code means that there’s an ongoing online service issue. Most of it is related to the game’s servers but other causes could also be at play here. Now, can this issue be fixed? Well, of course. So, let’s go ahead and find out all the workarounds for this.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint error mountain 00016: How to fix it?
Players can use the following workarounds to fix this issue. Follow these carefully and don’t skip unless you have already tried a workaround before.
Check server status –
Since this happens to be an online service issue, as we stated before, it’s recommended to check the game’s server status first. For that, you can visit the official Ghost Recon Breakpoint support page and check if the servers are under maintenance or not. If that’s indeed the case, just wait for a while, and the servers will come back online. And if the servers are working just fine, take a look at the next workaround.
Make sure your internet connection is working fine –
As Ghost Recon: Breakpoint needs you to always be online, we suggest that you check your internet connection. Make sure that the speed is good and there are no major interferences. Additionally, you can also try restarting your router and see if that helps.
Switch to a wired connection –
If you’re using Wi-Fi, switch to a wired connection. Ethernet offers a better, uninterrupted, and faster internet connection, so maybe this will help. Now, if this doesn’t help, switch to the next workaround.
Disable VPN –
For those who happen to be using a VPN, we suggest you disable it and then start the game. Sometimes VPNs tend to cause interference, so disabling them can be of help. And if that doesn’t help, take a look at the workaround below.
Allow GRB through Firewall –
This one is specifically for those who happen to be on PC. At times, firewalls can block internet access of a game, so allowing the game through it could be of big help. For this, all you need to do is:
- Open Windows Settings and click on Privacy & Security > Windows Security > Firewall & network connection.
- Now scroll down and click on Allow an app through Firewall.
- In the new window, select the Change Settings button and click Yes when you are prompted for admin access.
- Next, find Ghost Recon: Breakpoint in the list below. If it isn’t there, click on Allow another app and add the game.
- After that, just checkmark both the Private and Public options for GRB and click OK.
Well, that’s all the workarounds we have for this issue. Additionally, here’s a guide if you want to know about all the bosses in Ubisoft’s latest, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.
