Fortnite’s limited-time mode, Horde Rush, is back once again. Originally introduced back in Season 9, Horde Rush happens to be a cooperative game mode where players can team up together with others in order to slay The Caretaker. It’s a fun mode, alright, but it currently seems to be suffering from certain issues. And of course, we couldn’t just leave it like that, so we have shared this guide in response to that.
The biggest issue with Horde Rush seems to be related to matchmaking and long queues. But that’s not all, though. Players have also made complaints about not getting teammates and, in some cases, not being able to find and complete quests on the correct Horde Rush maps. Fortnite Horde Rush Not Working Issue: Is there any fix yet
Epic did fix Horde Rush some days ago, as evidenced by this tweet here. However, for some players, many of the issues are still there. To fix those, you can try the following workarounds:
Check your party settings –
This one is mainly for the issue where the mode will not fill teammates for you. One of the most common causes behind this seems to be players not simply checking their party settings. Horde Rush defaults to the No Fill option, as explained here, so make sure that you’ve switched party settings to Fill.
Get the updates –
See to it that you aren’t behind on updates for Fortnite. If you are, download and install the updates ASAP, and then check whether the issue related to Horde Rush persists or not. Updating your system might also help, so try it too.
Check server status –
Whenever you encounter any online issues with a game, do a server status check before everything else. Epic has a web page dedicated to the server status of its servers and games. So, head here and check whether Fortnite is Operational or not. Epic even updates incident reports every day, so you can also take a look there for any Fortnite-related information.
Switch to Epic’s Horde Rush –
The new UI update has been responsible for confusing a lot of players. Couple that with the Creative mode, where there are also Horde Rush maps, and it’s no wonder there’s so much complaining going around. As you can see here, this was one of the many issues some days ago. Players can identify the “official” Horde Rush mode by going into the Play section and looking for Horde Rush under the By Epic sub-section.
Reinstall –
In case the issue doesn’t seem to get resolved at all, try reinstalling the game. Just uninstall or delete the game from your device, and then start a new download. Once it’s installed, start the game and see if you are able to play Horde Rush.
