IronOak Games has been diligently trying to eliminate all the bugs and issues with For The King 2, and so far, it seems like they are doing a commendable job. And considering just how niche the FTK series is, all these help a lot in retaining and expanding the player base. FTK2 saw its official release on November 2, 2023, and improved a lot upon the first game in the series. And some of the major improvements happen to be the increase in party size and classes. The latter, in particular, the Pathfinder class, is the focus of this guide.
Having a varied number of classes helps give the players more playstyle options. Plus, it also adds fun to the combat and exploration. Now, you might think that unlocking the Pathfinder class will be a hard thing to do but don’t worry. For the King 2 (II): How to unlock the Pathfinder Class
Unlike some other classes, unlocking the Pathfinder class is arguably the easiest one. So what makes it so easy? Well, it’s because to get the Pathfinder class, you just have to complete the first chapter of the game, i.e., The Resistance. Furthermore, the first chapter of FTK2 is meant to explain the game mechanics and help players learn whatever there’s to know about it. So, just keep going with the storyline, and you will eventually unlock the Pathfinder class upon the completion of the first chapter.
Also, some players have been thinking that you need to complete The Resistance in 50 rounds to get the Pathfinder class, but that isn’t the case. Take as many turns as you like. It’s better to learn about game mechanics and such first than to rush through everything just to get a brand-new class.

In-game description of the Pathfinder class is as follows:
“Pathfinders are lifelong wanderers who spend more time in the trackless wilds than in any town. They have a knack for stumbling upon resources and landmarks other travelers might walk right by.
So, it is clear that the Pathfinder class has high awareness skills, which is also reflected on the stat chart that we have shared below:

As you can see by the abilities, the Pathfinder class is made for exploration and such. However, it seems like some in the community would prefer something else for an ability, especially the Scout one. Plus, it’s kind of bugged right now. Nevertheless, it’s still a great class, one that will be of tremendous help in Chapter 2. All in all, if you want a character that speeds up exploration in both the overworld and underground, get the Pathfinder.
