IronOak Games’ sequel to their 2017 debut title, For The King, is now available for download and play. Officially released on November 2, 2023, For The King 2, is here with a new story, and this time, you get to play the game with four party members, instead of the three in the first game. And the best of all, new classes. This guide in particular will help you unlock the Alchemist class.
For the uninitiated, the Alchemist happens to be one of the few new classes introduced in For the King 2. Now, unlike some other classes in the game, it isn’t a starting class like Scholar, Blacksmith, and such. Classes in the FTK series are quite important, as they play a big role in how both combat and exploration are done. Some classes are more attack-oriented, while there are also some that fall into either support or defense. So, what about the Alchemist class? Which type of playstyle is it suited for? How do you even unlock it? All those questions will be answered here in the guide below.
For The King 2 (II): How To Unlock The Alchemist Class
The game allows you to unlock the Alchemist in the first chapter itself, i.e., The Resistance. As you continue exploring and going through the main story, you will eventually come across a quest to rescue someone from a Prison Cart. That quest being – “Rescue Grizelle from Prison Cart in the Grassland”. Now, head north, and you will find the quest-related Prison Cart there. When you get closer to the Prison Cart, there’s a chance that another Prison Cart will spawn somewhere nearby. It’s random, so depending on your luck, you might have to try harder.
Once you locate the second Prison Cart, interact with it, roll the dice, and free the prisoner inside, who just so happens to be the Alchemist. Following these sets of events, you will unlock the Alchemist class.
Alchemist Stats and Info
- Strength – 55
- Vitality – 59
- Intelligence – 81
- Awareness – 65
- Talent – 75
- Speed – 81
- Luck – 55
As for its Special Abilities, we’ve got two:
- Passive – Smoke Flee
- Passive – Make Potion
When it comes to the starting equipment, you get the:
- Alchemist Wand
- Tinder Pouch
- Godsbeard
- Safety Stone
The Alchemist has some of the highest stats in Intelligence, Speed, and Talent. It’s got pretty good stats and can be used in both support and offensive roles. However, don’t go overboard with staying on the offensive at all times since this class has the third lowest Vitality, right behind Scholar and Hunter, respectively.
