This year’s Football Manager finally saw its official release on November 6, 2023. Simply titled Football Manager 2024, the game is now available for all platforms, including the Nintendo Switch and mobile. However, like any other newly released title, FM24 has some issues that require the attention of developers. And one of those happens to be the Stuck in Career Mode issue.
This particular issue seems to be mostly affecting the online or multiplayer career mode. When starting this mode, players just see a “Processing” text, and then they are unable to get into the match. It is quite a strange issue, but nevertheless, it needs to be fixed. Football Manager 2024 Stuck in Career Mode Issue: Is there any fix yet
One good thing is that the developers are aware of this issue and have promised a fix soon. So, until then, you can try the following workarounds:
Restart –
Well, the first thing that we recommend you try is doing a quick restart of the game. By doing so, you can find out whether this issue is just a one-time thing or something that will need additional effort to fix. And if the case is indeed the latter one, try other workarounds.
Check internet connection –
If you are constantly getting stuck in the online career mode, check your internet connection. See if you are getting good speed and if there are no major interferences. Additionally, you can also try restarting or even resetting your router.
Verify files –
Players can also try verifying game files to see if it helps curb this issue. If this is your first time using this method, then what you need to do is:
Steam
- Open Steam and then navigate to Library.
- Next, right-click on the game and then select Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files.
- After that, restart your PC and then launch the game.
Epic Games
- Start the Epic Games Launcher and click on Library.
- Select the three dots on the game’s tile and select Manage > Verify.
- Launch the game after the verification process is over.
Disable VPN –
If you happen to be using a VPN while playing the online career mode, disable it and then continue. VPNs tend to slow down internet speed, so disabling them can help bypass issues such as these. However, if you aren’t using a VPN, you can try using one and then check if the issue persists.
Avoid career mode –
Since the developers are working on fixing this issue, if possible, avoid career mode for now. It’s just better to wait and get a fix instead of constantly suffering through one issue after another.
