FIFA 22 friends not showing up on PS5 How to fix it

Reason for friends not showing up on FIFA 22

Apparently lot of people have raised their concerns on the EA forums about how they can’t see their friends on the PS5 version of the game. It is likely that there is an unresolved glitch in the next-gen version that’s preventing the users from seeing their friends. Keep in mind that in order to play with your friends, make sure that both of you have the same console and the same version of FIFA 22. If you have met the basic requirements and are still unable to see friends on your friend list in PS5, we have listed a few fixes that’ll help you play with your friend until EA officially rolls an update.

How to fix friends not showing up in FIFA 22

Many people are saddened that the game is bugged on the next-gen console like PS5. EA has assured players that they are actively working on fixing the issue, in the meantime, you can try out the fixes below and see if your friend list is showing up again or not.

Verify the PSN network status

There’s a high chance the issue lies with the Playstation servers and hence the reason why you can’t see your friends in FIFA 22. If the servers are down, you can’t see your friend list. Here’s how you can verify the PSN network status.

  • Press the PS button on your PS5 console and head to Settings.
  • In it, select “Network” and select “View PlayStation Network Status”.

Wait for some time until the search is finished and you should see the results. If all the services are marked green, then the servers are fine but, if it’s yellow or red, then the servers are down and you will have to wait until it’s fixed.

Reboot your PS5

If you’re unable to see your friends in the friend list in FIFA 22, then it might be because of unknown glitches that are present in the game. Restarting the console can fix the issue and is something worth trying. Here’s how you can restart your PS5.

  • Press the PS button on your controller and go to the power icon on the right side.
  • Select it and then select “Restart PS5”.

After restart, play FIFA 22 and see if the issue still persists or not.

Set your status to Online

Make sure that you and your friends are using the same version and platform they’re playing FIFA 22 and set your status to active/online. Also, turn on the notifications to receive invites in the game.

Play the PS4 version.

If you’re having issues with not being able to see your friend in the friend list in FIFA 22, then the friend list might be bugged in the next-gen version of the game. You and your friend can try playing the PS4 version of the game on your PS5 and see if you’re able to see your friends showing up on the friend list. Here’s how you can choose the version of the game.

  • Go to the homepage of your PS5 and search FIFA 22.
  • After selecting it, click on the game version and select the PS4 version.

Use the Google DNS server & check the NAT type

You can also try to make sure that you and your friend are using the same DNS settings and switching it to Google DNS servers has fixed the issue most of the time. Also, make sure that you both play in either NAT 1 or NAT 2. Simply head to your router configuration and verify the NAT type. Ask your friend if they are using the same network configuration as yours and try again.

We hope that the fixes above solved your friend list issue in the game. If all of the fixes above mentioned don’t work, then you’ll have to power cycle your network and console or contact EA.
