FFXIV error 24202: How to fix it

FFXIV is the popular title that takes the best parts of MMORPG from several different titles and combines them with the general formula of its own in a good way and fans love it. It has been received well among the audience for the beautiful graphics, endless amount of content, and general atmosphere of the series that never ceases to amaze fans.

However, the game is not perfect as it comes with its own set of problems that includes crashes, server disconnection error messages, and particularly error 24202. This error has been going around in the game for a while and has frustrated many players. Thankfully there are fixes that address this issue and fix it and we’ll be sharing all of them with you. How to fix error 24202 in Final Fantasy 14.

Apparently, the error code 24202 is very tricky to address, unlike other error messages that can be fixed by making a few changes. After a thorough investigation, it seems that this error has something to do with the subscription method that Square Enix uses when people purchase their games. Hopefully, the publishers fix these issues in the future that doesn’t prevent you from playing, especially when you’ve fully paid for the game. Luckily we have a good idea of how this error can be fixed and have listed workarounds to bypass this. Check out the workarounds we’ve mentioned below on how to fix error 24202.

Enable cookies during payment

There have been many cases when Google chrome blocks the cookies from the website when you’re making purchases and is advisable to enable them before you proceed with payment. Here’s how to do it.

  • In your Chrome browser, type the three dots on the top right side and click on “Settings”.
  • After that, click on “Privacy and Security” and click on the “cookies and site data” option.
  • Click on allow all cookies and click on the “Add” button next to “sites that always use cookies”.
  • Add the following to the list “na.gcsip.com gcsip.com”.
  • Try making payment after doing so and head to browser settings again and the cookies section.
  • Select block cookies in incognito mode and you’re good to go.

Use different browser

This method has worked for many users who were experiencing error 24202 when trying to make payments. If you’re using Google Chrome, switch to Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Opera, Brave, and try making payments from those browsers. It is also advisable to make payments using a mobile device as it has worked for several people.

Disable extensions.

Sometimes having extensions installed on your browser conflicts with the website in subtle ways and prevents them from functioning correctly. Disable the extensions that you have installed on your browser like Adblock, and Ghostery, and try again.

Avoid using VPN when making payments.

It is a rare case, but often is the reason behind error 24202 error when you’re trying to make payments by enabling VPN. Make sure that your account and the location from where you’re surfing are not changed in the VPN or try enabling or disabling VPN and see if the payment is successful or not.

The abovementioned fixes will work for you if FFXIV is giving you error 24202. However, if none of them work, you can also try clearing the cache of your browser and try again.
