How to move the mods in Farming Simulator 22
By default, the mod folder is usually located into C:/ drive, if you want to preserve your FS 22 mods or move it to someplace else, you can do so quite easily and won’t be delving into complicated measures. Follow the steps to locate the mod folder of Farming Simulator 22.
- Double click on My PC and then click on Documents on the left side of the window.
- After opening the documents folder, go to “My Games” and then Farming Simulator 22 folder
- You’ll see a lot of files in the FS folder, look for the mods folder and open it.
If you have installed any mods, it will be shown in the mods folder, simply right-click on the mods folder and click on Cut, and head to the location you’d want your mods folder to be moved and right-click again and click on Paste.
How to set mods folder in the new location
To do that, simply go back to the Documents folder, My Games, and then Farming Simulator 22 folder. From here on, you can change the mods folder location by simply opening the “gamesettings.xml” file using Notepad. Now here’s the important part, in the XML file, modify the certain values that’ll change where the mods of farming simulator 22 will be stored.
This is the line you have to change in the XML file of game settings, “<modsDirectoryOverride = active=”false” directory=”C:/Temp”/>. In this particular value Change the “false” to “true” and the directory of where you want it saved, example “D:/mods”/>. Once you’re done with it, click on File and then click on “Save”, not “Save as” since it will end up creating a different file. You want to only override the settings to which you’ve made changes in the gamesettings.xml file.
After that, launch Farming Simulator 22 to make sure that your mods are in the new location. In the main menu, click on “Downloadable Content” and in the installed section, if all of your mods are showing up, it means you have successfully copied your mods over to a new location. That’s it, you have successfully moved the FS 22 mods to your desired location.
