When it comes to farm sims, Giants Software’s Farming Simulator 22 happens to be a popular choice among many who want something realistic. Released in 2021, it’s the thirteenth mainline installment in the long-running series. And compared to other games in the series, Farming Simulator 22 is considered one, if not, the best one out there. The Steam version alone sees over 15k+ average players each month. Suffice it to say, it’s got a pretty active player base. All this is possible thanks to the devs still supporting the game with new content updates regularly. The latest of which comes in the form of AMD FSR 3 support for the game.
In case, you didn’t know, FSR 3 or Fidelity Super Resolution 3 is AMD’s own upscaling technology, akin to Nvidia’s DLSS and Intel’s XeSS. FSR 3 was just released last year on 29 September, 2023 making its debut on Forspoken and Immortals of Aveum. And now it’s arrived in Farming Simulator 2022. So, how can you enable it? Well, we will talk about all that in the guide below.
Farming Simulator 22 gets FSR 3 Support & you can enable it this way
As we stated before, Farming Simulator 22 happens to be the latest game to support AMD’s FSR 3 and Frame Generation. However, do note that AMD FSR3 is only available for PCs right now, so console players will have to sit this one out. Now, to get FSR3 and Frame Generation, players will need to first download the latest Farming Simulator 22 update – 1.13.1.1. Once you have downloaded and installed the update, launch Farming Simulator 22 and follow the instructions below to enable FSR3:
- From Farming Simulator 22’s main screen select Options and switch to Display Settings.
- Next, hit Space on your keyboard and this should get you to Advanced Graphics Settings.
- Under Advanced Graphics Settings, you will find a bunch of options including DLSS, FSR1, Intel XeSS, FSR 3, and of course, FSR 3 Frame Generation.
- To enable FSR 3, just click on the right arrow and it will switch from Off to Quality. Now, FSR3 has four more options that you can try out if you want- Native AA, Balanced, Performance, and Ultra Performance.
- As for FSR 3 Frame Generation, do what you did with FSR 3 and enable it.
Note that you will not be able to enjoy FSR 3 on Farming Simulator 22 if your GPU isn’t supported. As such, we recommend taking a quick look at the list below to see all the FSR 3-supported graphics hardware:
- AMD Radeon 6000 series
- AMD Radeon 6000M series
- AMD Radeon 5000 series
- AMD Radeon 5000M series
- AMD Radeon VII Graphics
- AMD Radeon RX Vega series
- AMD Radeon 600 series
- AMD Radeon RX 500 series
- AMD Radeon RX 480/470/460 Graphics
- AMD Ryzen Desktop Processors with AMD Radeon Graphics
- AMD Ryzen Mobile Processors with Radeon Graphics
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 series
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20 series
- NVIDIA GeForce 16 series
- NVIDIA GeForce 10 series
Additionally, if you are also going to use FSR 3 along with Frame Generation, make sure that the game runs at least at 60 FPS before you activate FG. Frame Generation doesn’t work great under 60fps, so always keep that in mind.
Well, that’s all the info we have on this. Additionally, if you are facing some issues with reverse not working in FS22, take a quick look here. And for more such guides, keep following DigiStatement. Also read: Returnal: How to enable DLSS/FSR?
