Endless Dungeon is the latest addition to the ever-expanding Endless universe by Amplitude Studios, the team behind Humankind. A sequel to 2014’s Dungeon of the Endless, this one is a clear upgrade from its predecessor. While the first game was a 2D roguelike tower defense, this game is a top-down 3D tower defense twin-stick shooter. While the game is certainly fun, it has a plethora of issues that need to be dealt with. One of these major issues reported by players is the “stuck on loading screen”.
Well, the issue explains itself. Many reported that sometimes the game will go up to a certain percentage in the loading screen and then simply get stuck in there. At times, this even lasts for ten or more minutes. It is clearly an annoying issue that Amplitude needs to address soon if they want to retain players. So, is there a fix yet? Endless Dungeon Stuck on Loading Screen Issue: Is there any fix yet
Amplitude seems to be aware of this issue but hasn’t yet released a fix. So, until then, you can try out the following workarounds:
Restart –
First of all, try this step before moving on to other workarounds. You can start by restarting your game first, and then check whether the issue persists or not. If it does, then restart your PC or console too. In case all this doesn’t yield any helpful results, check out other workarounds.
Whitelist the game on your Antivirus –
As stated by many, it seems like the issue can be resolved by whitelisting Endless Dungeon on your antivirus. For those on Windows and using Windows Defender, all you need to do is:
- Open Windows Settings and head to Privacy & Security > Windows Security > Virus & Threat Protection.
- In the new window, scroll down and select Manage Settings under the Virus and Threat Protection Settings option.
- Once more, scroll all the way down, and this time click on Add or Remove Exclusions. Give admin access when prompted.
- Now, click on the Add an Exclusion button and add the game to the exclusion list. You need to add the game’s installation folder to the exclusion list so that the antivirus program doesn’t restrict its functioning.
Also, if you happen to be using another antivirus program besides Defender, make sure to add the game’s folder to the exclusion list of that antivirus as well.
Allow Endless Dungeon through the firewall –
This issue can also occur if the game is unable to connect to its servers while loading the multiplayer mode. So, you need to allow the game through your firewall to get rid of it. To do so, follow the previous workaround’s first step until you are in Windows Security. Then, instead of clicking on virus & threat protection, you need to click on Firewall & network protection. Now, select Allow an app through firewall, and then, in the new window, click on the Change settings button. Select yes when asked for admin access. Start looking for Endless Dungeon in the list below. In case you are unable to find it there, add it by selecting the “Allow another app…” button. Once that’s done, tick both Private and Public options beside it, and click OK to end the process. After this, launch the game and check whether the issue persists.
Validate files –
Validating files is one of the most common workarounds that can be used to fix such issues. To use this one, you need to:
Steam
- Open Steam and navigate to Library.
- From there, find Endless Dungeon and right-click on it.
- Select Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files.
Epic
- Launch Epic Games Launcher and click on Library.
- Now, select the three dots on Endless Dungeon and choose Manage > Verify.
Run the game in admin mode –
Players can also try running the game in admin mode and see if it helps. And it’s pretty easy to do that. Just right-click on the game’s exe file or shortcut and select Properties > Compatibility. Now, take a look below and tick the Run this program as an administrator option. End the process by clicking Apply and OK.
Reinstall –
If none of the workarounds prove useful, the only option besides contacting support is to simply reinstall the entire game. And so, if you do go ahead with this method, save your progress first and then uninstall the game. After it’s installed, start it and see if you still encounter this issue.
For now, these are all the workarounds you can try. If interested in other tower defense titles, why not try Bloons TD6, unlock its Chimps mode, and enjoy? And as always, don’t forget to follow DigiStatement. Also, read: Humankind Saved Game not loading for many players, fix awaited
