In colleges across the United States of America, we have always heard about how football is a different game for them.
For them, football does not consist of a round ball but a Pigskin. This game of football has got an element of rugby but stands out differently. This football also features goalposts but they are different from what we get to see in soccer. To ensure points against the opponent, players need to take the ball and take it to the opposing team’s end zone.
American Football is immensely popular amongst college teams. The universities in the States have got their own teams. With a huge professional crowd and proper media coverage, colleges across the States continue to support them with the wildest of tifo and cheering as the game begins. Henceforth when it comes to sports-based games, we always think of EA Sports (after all, it’s in the game!) While EA Sports has got NFL, NHL, NBA, and the iconic FIFA, College Football has been missing for a long time. But we got great news! It is set to make a return!
EA Sports College Football 23
EA Sports have officially announced the game’s comeback through Twitter. In the post, they said
For those who never stopped believing…
#EASPORTSCollegeFootball
As part of the development, EA Sports has asked American Universities to send them valuable data and asked for their permission for scanning and making them an official part of the game. This includes:
- Asset Needs: EA will need to create assets for the current generation of consoles in order to start developing the game. This will necessitate both asset sharing with EA and EA visiting schools to obtain references for goods that cannot be supplied (i.e., stadium scanning).
- Logos: The crest that will feature on the jerseys need access, hence EA has requested the latest logos
- Stadium scan data: The stadium will be scanned using scanning technology (renovations to the stadium may require subsequent EA visits to scan the changes).
- Uniforms: EA will require permission to scan all accessible uniform elements, including the helmet, shirt, trousers, and socks. Even though uniforms will change before the game’s first release, EA will need access to past uniforms in order to build up the game’s historic uniform collection.
- Costumed mascots: To scan mascot outfits for authenticity, EA will require access to them. This should happen throughout the scanning excursions to the stadium.
Along with these, EA has asked for school-owned band recordings and trophies like Bowl Trophy. Therefore, we would also come across mascots and traditions like Tommy Rojan, Rambling. Now the real question arises is that, when will we get to access this game?
