Developed by Double Fine and published by Xbox Game Studios, Psychonauts 2 is a single-player platform game that was released on August 25, 2021. This game is a sequel to Psychonauts (2005) and is available for Microsoft Windows, macOS, Linux, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Psychonauts 2 also features the main character, Raz (a psychonaut with powerful psychic abilities), who is up against different kinds of opponents (non-player characters). Coming back to the topic, this article is regarding the Ray Tracing feature in Psychonauts 2. So, here is everything you need to know about it.

Psychonauts 2 Ray Tracing

Ray Tracing is a feature or a technique modeling for use in a wide variety of rendering algorithms. Simply put, Ray Tracing is a technique that makes the light in video games behave as it does in the real physical world. It facilitates the simulation of actual beam light in the games. When we talk about Ray Tracing in Psychonauts 2, we would be seeing a disappointment here. Psychonauts 2 is reportedly not having the Ray Tracing feature. Being an action game, it should have had this feature, but the reality is that fans have to adjust to this drawback in the Psychonauts sequel.

Along with the Ray Tracing, the game players have also complained about the poor and outdated visuals of the game. Knowing that this game will be releasing on ninth-generation video game consoles, the game fans were expecting much more graphics output from the game. Not only this, there are many other drawbacks that players have pointed out. You can also head here to check out the Russian Localization issue of Psychonauts 2.
